French Lifestyle Tips

French Lifestyle Tips

I’ve been obsessed with the French since I discovered an article on Pinterest about French skincare. I dove right into researching more about the French and how they treat their skin, wear their makeup, what they eat, and how they live. Check out what I’ve learnt from the French below:

French Face Care (Night)

  • Remove eye makeup with micellar water.
  • When wearing a lot of makeup use a cleanser.
  • Use a serum based on your skincare needs last.

French Face Care (Morning)

  • Clean face with fresh water, followed by Avéne Thermal Spring Water spray.
  • Use a gentle toner.
  • Use a moisturiser.

French Makeup

  • Be a makeup minimalist; focus only on one part – the eyes or the lips.
  • Wear a BB Cream. Only use full coverage foundation for really read patches.
  • Highlight instead of contour.
  • Add a little bit of pink blush on the cheeks.
  • Put on a lot of mascara and black eyeliner.
  • When going out, wear a bold red lip but if you’re wearing a red lip then leave the black eyeliner and only wear mascara.

Body

  • Put fragrance everywhere (spray the clothes in your closet, spray a handkerchief and leave it in your handbag).
  • Always wear sunscreen and moisturiser.
  • Embrace your imperfections.

Products

  • Buy drugstore products.
  • Invest in quality skincare products.

Diet

  • Eat a Mediterranean-style diet (fresh vegetables and fruit, whole grains, nuts, legumes, olive oil, and fish, with little meat and even less processed foods).
  • Cook your food at home.
  • Cook simple, yet delicious recipes.
  • Sit down to a proper meal.
  • Eat good food (cheese, bread, cream), in moderation.
  • Do not to snack between meals.
  • Have red wine with dinner.

Style

  • Less is more.
  • Wear luxurious lingerie everyday.
  • Cultivate a capsule wardrobe for each season.

Lifestyle

  • Design a workout regimen to look forward to.
  • Be sincere, yet kind.
  • Shop at local vendors and boutiques.
  • Elevate the conversation; refrain from complaining and gossiping.
  • Create an evening routine to look forward to.
  • Schedule regular spa appointments for beauty and health maintenance (facial, massage, hair cut/color, waxing and any other must-dos)
  • Stock a bar cart for spur-of-the-moment entertaining.
  • Fill your home with inspired music.
  • Create a bookshelf you love.
  • Cultivate an air of mystery.
  • Have a signature dish.

  • Create or keep traditions.
